When applications are considered by committee, the Town Council has an opportunity to send a representative to speak on that application should it so wish.

The proposed works involve the refurbishment of the existing ground floor shopfront to enhance its appearance and contribute positively to the local streetscape. This includes careful repointing of the existing red brickwork to revive its condition and the application of a high-quality external wall paint in a soft mustard yellow to the lower section of the façade. The update will preserve the shopfront’s original proportions while introducing a fresh, modernised finish that remains respectful of the building’s character and surrounding context.
In addition, the existing side elevation fire exit will be upgraded from an outdated sliding door to a new, fire rated pivot door. This replacement is intended to meet current fire safety standards while offering a more secure and durable solution in keeping with the updated look of the premises.
